Never one to be content with just your average connection. Afterlife LAN is stepping up their game! Taking advantage of the higher scale ability and bandwidth speeds, we are upgrading our switching backbone to fiber optics!

This wont currently provide us with any immediate benefit, as our current switches are still just 1G uplinks. however, Fiber can scale from 1, 2, 10, or even 40Gb if the switch and SFPs can support it. We are currently looking at some possible 10G. This will allow us faster file transfers and less potential bottle necking between switches.
